Moneymore After School Club

Moneymore After School Club

Moneymore After-school Club has been in operation since 1997 & targets young people aged 8 to 14 years living in the Moneymore area of Drogheda. Our aim is to support the young people to stay in school, and to reach their full potential in all aspects of their life, personally, socially & developmentally.
During the school year members receive help with homework and take part in other activities & workshops. We also run Easter & summer camps and involve our members in community events throughout the year.

Everything we do is designed to encourage personal growth & responsibility in the amazing and resilient young people we work with. We allow them opportunities to grow and develop while we model positive behaviour and self-regulation in our interactions with them. We help with their homework & offer structured interventions and include them in community events, such as an Taisce Spring Clean Up and the Crinniu Youth Arts Festival.

We build capacity by inviting previous members back to mentor new members. In fact, rather than being invited, they often ask if they can come back in a mentor role – which is a tribute to how much they enjoy attending and how positively they feel toward the service.

Due to the Club’s popularity, there is a waiting list for places. The new premises would allow us to expand our numbers and services.
